In August 2023 we and our 15 year old granddaughter were guided around Israel for 6 days by Hilik Wald. In our >75 years we have been on many trips to many interesting places but we have never been guided and formally and informally educated like we were almost every minute of the trip with Hilik.
After 12 years of Catholic school education we thought we knew a lot at least about the New Testament and a little about the Old Testament but Hilik knew so much more- which he always enthusiastically shared with us. At our request, Hilik directed most of his education to our granddaughter, gently quizzing her and asking her opinion as the days passed. Consequently she was very engaged, felt included, important and, before our eyes, became more of an adult each day.
